Harry Potter 6 (SPOILERS APLENTY) 

Oh. My. Lord. Grace and I had our Harry Potter day today. Met up at 1.40 at Chaddy, lunched, went a-searching for the best bargain. We somehow decided our quest was to find the adult-cover version. Borders had only one left, which we hid in the history section next to a book on Mussolini. Finally found cheap copies of the adult version at Target. Then junk-food shopping, then Springvale to buy noodles. Came home, and read and read and read. It's 2am now. Here are my first incoherent, raving impressions.

All I can say is: oh my fuck, Dumbledore!.....!!!!!.....!!! The spoilers were right, but damn, I was hoping all the way up to page 607 that he'd resurrect a la Gandalf. Perhaps he will come back in Book 7. There's just something too....abrupt about his death. And sorta unnecessary plot-wise.

I guessed it was Snape's book all along. Potions + small cramped handwriting. Didn't guess that he was the HBP though. By the way, wtf was the importance of the HBP anyway?! And the potions book? Sweet FA! R.A.B? WTF?

Also: totally knew Snape was a dick! But! Suspect that we haven't got the full story yet.

I'm disappointed, really. The action wasn't well spread out. It seemed like JKR decided like "ok this chapter is for character development. let's play with the shipping now." then "oh yeah, plot. chuck in a drop of info here." "back to lalala kissies, quidditch, lalala boring homework" (btw: THE MONSTER IN HIS CHEST? BWAHAHAHAAHA). "oops, time for some plot....fight fight fight kill kill". I skimmed the last bits because HELLO WHO CARES, DUMBLEDORE - THE ONLY ONE HE EVER FEARED, FFS - IS DEAD.

Random thoughts: I don't really give a frick about Bill/Fleur, Tonks/Lupin, whathisface McClaggen, or any of the sexual stirrings of the kiddies. And what's with the withered black hand? You can't say you'll explain then totally not! And...love?!! Come onnnnn. And also, where's Sirius? All that promising stuff about the mirrors and shit. And how come the DA just fizzled out? It was a great idea! And more info wanted about all the weird shit in the Ministry of Magic from Book 5! The veil, the brains, yo. And why doesn't Voldy just get Snape to kill DD instead of all this Draco crap? He's a kid! Fgah.

Ok, not thinking straight. Too much reading and junk food. Sleepies now.
