Ella, Ella

I want to eat Ella Fitzgerald's voice. It's like creamy rich-yet-fine dark chocolate made aural. Mmmm.

See, while I was looking for the theme song from The English Patient, "Szerelem, szerelem" (a beautiful song itself, by the way), I came across "Cheek to Cheek" and borrowed it from my dear friend user 197.698.097. Ten songs later, I'm hooked. My favourite is "Mack the Knife", the one where she couldn't remember the lyrics and improvised half the song with an impromptu Louis Armstrong impression in the middle:

Oh Bobby Darin, and Louis Armstrong
They made a record, oh but they did
And now Ella, Ella, and her fellas
We're making a wreck, what a wreck
Of Mack The Knife

Heh. What a legend.
