By George!

Last night was my first live gig ever and damn, was it worth the hour drive to Campbelltown. If you live under a rock haven't heard of George, they're a 5-piece Aussie band with a really unique vibe...think Jeff Buckley meets silverchair, kind of jazz-progrock-folk fusion which actually works.

Highlights:
-Brilliant scat by Katie at the opening of Special Ones. My band covered this song, so my fingers were itching when they were playing it.
-The sung intro to the band & crew at the end
-Katie's supersonic note. I was quietly trying to hum along to see how high it actually was. Failed miserably and almost broke myself in the meantime. Tres impressive though.
-Hardcore super-fast shredding by Nick
-The running wine joke & other banter (eg. making people waltz and/or propose).
-Charlton Hill, the support act. That boy is hot.
-"Bastard Son" live. Fricking amazing.
-Seeing Nick hug the merchandise dude at the end, like a foot away from where I was standing. I love how accessible George are, no rock-star attitude at all.
-Great energy in the more grungy bits. George is hardly a band you can mosh to, but even I felt like bopping along. Thank god I resisted.
