Alia iacta est
As of 12am, I no longer have to think of preferences. Thank god. My top three are 1) USyd law, 2) UNSW law, 3) USyd speech pathology. The latter moved up about three places up my list at the last minute, though it's inconsequential unless USyd suddenly decides to move the law entry score to 99.90 or something.I was up since 7am this morning, or rather yesterday morning. USyd had invited me to their Smartiepants & Showoffs Breakfast. Free ham and cheese croissants and bottled juice. Sweet.
Well, it would have been sweet if I had not been a) lost half the time and b) totally intimidated. Sydney Uni is built in the image of the colleges of the dear motherland: stone buildings around a manicured quad, spires, bells and all. All that's missing are the gargoyles. Then there were the prospective students. Now, I come from a private school, but next to these people I look like a proper prole. Clean-cut boys clapping each other on the back, tall blonde girls air-kissing. My (possible) future fellow students and colleagues.
Not to be judgemental or anything.
Sigh. It's 2am, I'm sentimental. I miss my friends and I miss Melbourne. I miss my dad and my grandma. Fresh air. Trees. Straight roads. No bugs. Three weeks and I already feel like an expat.
